program overview

YLS develops and supports young women leaders from our local community by providing educational and networking opportunities as well as participation in a unique giving circle. The 2021 cohort will meet virtually once a month on Mondays from 6PM – 7:30PM; participants are expected to attend all program activities. Each year, JWF accepts up to 20 women to join YLS.

Topics covered include:

  • Self-care and boundary setting
  • Public speaking
  • Salary negotiation
  • Financial literacy
  • How to be a strategic philanthropist
  • Advocacy 101

giving circle

Values based giving is an important form of leadership. The last three sessions are the giving circle component of the program, which provides an opportunity to learn about organizations in our local community and strategic grant making with a gender lens. Each member will contribute a minimum of $250, which will be pooled together for one local organization grant. YLS members will research potential funding opportunities and collectively decide how to use their funds

Applications must be submitted no later than January 18th, 2021. Space is limited.

If accepted into YLS, I agree to pay the $50 program fee and contribute $250 for the giving circle, and to do my best to attend all sessions.
